I'm Blaine Austin, founder of Sew Nation USA. I've spent more than 25 years in the sewing industry. During that time, I had the privilege of leading companies like AllBrands.com and Sewing Machines Plus, helping grow them into some of the most recognized names in sewing. Most recently, I served as Vice President of Sales & Strategy at Stitch It International.
Which is a long way of saying: I've sold, serviced, unboxed, argued about, and personally used just about every sewing, embroidery, quilting, and longarm machine on the American market.
But the years I think about most weren't spent sitting behind a desk. They were spent talking with makers.
At Sewing Machines Plus, I hosted weekly live shows along with special events like Quilt Fest, Hoop Fest, Sew Fest, and Countdown to Christmas. Some weeks we'd spend five straight days live on camera, sharing products, teaching techniques, answering questions, and laughing together. That community became known as SMP Nation.
When I joined Stitch It International, we started building that same kind of community all over again through weekly live shows. Before long, people were calling it Stitch Nation.
Something remarkable happened both times.
People may have tuned in because they were shopping for a sewing machine, but they stayed because of the people. They shared stories about quilts they were making for grandchildren, projects they'd finally pulled out after years in the closet, and the excitement of learning something new. They helped each other solve problems, celebrated each other's successes, and reminded me every week that sewing has always been about more than fabric and thread.
That's when something became crystal clear.
People rarely remember where they bought a sewing machine. They remember who helped them choose it. They remember who answered the phone when they got stuck. They remember who celebrated their first finished project and encouraged them to keep creating.
That's the business I've always wanted to build.
So this is the next chapter.
This is Sew Nation.
And this one belongs to all of us.

Sew Nation USA isn't just another place to buy sewing products.
My goal is to build a community where education, inspiration, service, and great products all come together. Whether you're buying your very first sewing machine, mastering embroidery, quilting your hundredth quilt, or turning your passion into a business, I want Sew Nation USA to be a place where you always have someone to turn to.
For years, I've believed that buying a sewing machine should be the beginning of the relationship—not the end. That's why Sew Nation USA is being built around expert advice, live demonstrations, educational content, product support, and a community of people who genuinely enjoy helping one another succeed.
